Hotel
Charleville town recently got a new hotel that is grand in style. The Charleville Park hotel is located on the main Limerick road. The project was taken over by the Cork Luxury Hotel group based in Ballincollig after it had languished in a state of partial completion for a number of years. The new proprietors added another floor to the building, and it will now provide 90 luxury bedrooms, banqueting facilities for up to 350 guests, conference facilities for up to 400 delegates and a business centre with 5 additional meeting rooms for 20 to 70 delegates.
One local said ‘The town badly needed it. Most people passing through Charleville feel they have no business stopping. Charleville has had nothing since the Deerpark closed many years ago’. The Deerpark Hotel was located on the same site.
Constituency Committee Recommends Cork Shakeup
The Constituency Committee published it’s recommendations yesterday, prompting widespread dissent from politicians in most parties. The purpose of the committee is to rebalance constituencies as recent studies show that some are over-represented and others have too few constituents. Some drastic measures are proposed, such as moving Limerick voters to Kerry constituencies. Cork will see 8500 voters moved from Cork North-West and Cork East to Cork North Central
Mission Statement
To promote and uphold each other’s businesses, to share knowledge and expertise to better serve our customers and to develop and enhance business by exchanging quality referrals
General Information
The North Cork Business Alliance meets weekly at the Hibernian Hotel, Mallow, Co. Cork (7.30 a.m. – 8.30 a.m.) and conduct their business in a friendly, semi-formal setting. There are approximately 25 members in the group and, as only one member is allowed to represent each membership category, the setting is non-competitive and, therefore, a more productive referral system is exploited – diversity is strength.
A Needs Analysis is conducted on a regular basis to identify shortfalls in knowledge/expertise that is not available within the group. Once a shortfall is identified, relevant professional external facilitators are engaged to impart the desired information, thus ensuring that the members are adequately equipped to conduct their businesses as effectively and efficiently as possible.
Members envisage that working collectively as interested parties in fulfilling the Aims and Objectives of NCBA will enhance their contribution and will also assist the group in their commitment and dynamism.
